Kannappa makers have issued a legal warning against defamation and trolling before the film’s release of the film.
New Delhi: An upcoming Telugu-language mythological action film Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and starring Akshay Kumar, has come into controversy after the release of her much awaited trailer.
The film, based on the story of devotion to Lord Shiva, has criticized some quarters, with allegations that it “insults Brahmins.”
In response to backlash, the film’s makers have taken a strong stand, issuing a warning of legal action against those who try to discredit the film without justification.

In the Social Media Platform X (East Twitter), The Production House, issued a “public precaution notice”, “our film #Kannappa releases globally on 27 June 2025 with full valid approval. The film or its stakeholders will be legally challenged.”
In a more detailed statement, the manufacturers emphasized the film’s fair production credentials, given that it received all the necessary certificates, intellectual property protection and legal approval.

Despite the controversy, the manufacturers hoped that the film would be received positively by the audience, concluding the statement with an appeal for public support, “We are ready to support the audience, well -wishers and broader public support, goodwill and encouragement, to ensure that Kanapappa receives the festival and appreciates that it is so comfortable for earning.”
Kannappa is slaughtered for release worldwide on 27 June 2025.
