Rishabh Shetty in Rana Daggubati’s show
Rishabh had a candid conversation with actor and host Rana Daggubati in ‘The Rana Daggubati Show’. The two actors joined actress Neha Shetty for an unfiltered chat. Rana visited Rishabh’s hometown Keeradi, where he talked about his filmmaking journey and his dream of turning his village into a cinematic hub.
Rishabh talks about the genesis of ‘Kantara’ and how the film is connected to his home and community.
“Since childhood, I have dreamed of shooting a film in my village and its forests, Keeradi. I searched for this location for many films, but things never came to fruition. Then came Kantara – which was eventually shot here. It was a collective effort, more than 700 people from the village contributed. It is because of this tremendous partnership that I call my home KFC – Keradi Film City.”
The actor said how the film changed the perception of cinema in his village.
“This area is not very big in terms of films, but Kantara showed them their form on screen. It became relatable and love and blessings started pouring in in abundance.”
In an emotional moment during the episode, Rishabh’s wife, Pragathi Shetty, tells the touching story of their first meeting.
She said, “I am a fan of Rakshit Shetty, so I went to the Ricky screening with my friends. One of the directors wanted a picture with Rishabh, so we talked. And I told him how proud I was of his journey from a small village to achieving so much in cinema. That’s when he started loving me! She sent me a friend request on social media and that’s where it all started.
