While Karan Johar can often get mixed reactions to his direction undertakings, his diverse options as a manufacturer have earned him global recognition. The famous filmmaker is now making a grand comeback at the Cannes Film Festival after 12 years – this time, to represent his latest production, ‘Homebound’ directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The film is ready for the premiere in the United Nations’s fixed ties segment at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on 21 May.
Speaking at an event on French Riviera, Karan recalled an emotional memory from his first visit to Cannes with ‘Kabi Khushi Kabi Gham’ (2002). Karan spoke warmly in the early days of taking his father Yash Johar and Bollywood to the global platforms at the Bharat Pavilion by Neeraj Gaywan, director of ‘Homebound’.

Karan said, “I have a lot of emotional memories of ear. I remember it was 2002 when I came here with my father. He signed a deal and kissed Kushi Kabi Gum’s European rights sold for five thousand dollars.”
“I thought it was very low and asked my father about it. He said to me,” Look, we have to start somewhere. ” He was not later not to watch the cultural movement made with Bollywood films. ,
Karan also reminded Sanjay Leela Bhansali about attending the screening of Devdas in the same year.

Considering his deep cooperation with Cannes, Karan said: “I have a lot of memories attached. I have not been here for the last 12 years. Bharata comes back to the pavilion and feels like going back to 21 years. My father was here many times – it looks like a house.”
