Mumbai:
Bollywood’s most loved actor Karan Johar, who last gave the superhit film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, is celebrating the 18th anniversary of his most special film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna on Sunday.
The director-producer-entrepreneur shared a video on his Instagram showing BTS moments from the making of the film. The video instantly takes viewers back to the mid-2000s, including the fashion of that era.
The video features Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Rampal.
Karan Johar said in the video that making ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was possible only because every member of the cast was a friend and family.
She also wrote a long note in the caption: “KANK was the path I shouldn’t have taken but it was the best decision I’ve ever made! This film not only gave me the best times with my amazing cast who, honestly, were more than my family – it also gave me the courage to tell stories I believed in about relationships that were messy but beautiful… just like life ? Happy 18 years of #KabhiAlvidaNaaKehna.”
‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was a passion project for Karan Johar and was his first film as a director after the demise of his father Yash Johar.
Upon release, the film failed at the box office as Indian audiences could not connect with the themes of adultery and broken marriages. The film was considered ahead of its time and featured stellar performances from the cast. The film is also remembered for its evergreen music. The songs from the film still trend on Instagram, 18 years after the album release.
