New Delhi: Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Happiness No No Bounds, his film ‘Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ received the National Award for the best popular film, which offers complete entertainment.
Expressing gratitude to the jury, Karan said, “I am ecstatic and overwhelmed to win the national award for a film close to my heart ….. Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani …. I am grateful to the jury and continue to get the film.”
Karan also took on Instagram and gave a heartfelt note on the recognition of his film at the National Awards.
“It feels surreal, 2 years on … to receive so much love for a film that we put so much love in. The Dance and Everything – Their Own! My Deepest Gratitude Again to the #NationalFilmawards for Having And my biggest love & hugs to @vaibhavi.merchant and his team is a happy man today to give us the best choreography for Dhindora Baje Re, and I will be grateful for this forever – it is magical to win the same award as you did for your first film, “he posted.
‘Rocky and Rani’s Prem Kahani’ starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. It hit theaters on July 28, 2023, loved the audience and critics.
The film also included veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chaudhary, Muni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir and Kshti Jog.
The film marked Karan’s return in direction after 7 years. Not only for the performance and beautiful story of the actors, the songs of the film were also very popular and got a lot of love from the audience. The music composed by Pritam had a mixture of romantic tracks, dance numbers and emotional songs, and contributed significantly to the film’s appeal.
It should be ‘ve kamleya’ or ‘tum kya mile’ or ‘kudmayi’, weaving all the songs of ‘Rocky and Rani …’.
The 71st National Award, which was declared on Friday, has also recognized many other films and artists. The story of Kerala was awarded the best cinematography. Best choreography went to the Vaibhavi businessman for ‘Dhindora Baje’ in Rocky and Rani’s Prem Kahani. ‘Kathl’ received the Best Hindi Film Award, while the best female playback singer went to Shilpa Rao.
