Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar has approached the Bombay High Court against the makers of the upcoming Hindi film ‘Hum Saath Hain’. Wedding directors Karan and JoharHe said his name was used illegally in the title.

Johar, in his petition, had sought a permanent injunction against the film’s producers India Pride Advisory and Sanjay Singh and writer-director Babloo Singh from using his name in the title of the film.
The matter was raised before a single bench of Justice RI Chagla on Wednesday. The court said it will hear the petition on Thursday. The film is scheduled to release on June 14 (Friday).
The 52-year-old Bollywood personality insisted that he has no association with the film or its makers and said that the producers are illegally using his name in the title of the film. Johar said in the suit that the title of the film has a direct reference to his name, which violates his personality rights and right to privacy.
He further said that by using his brand name unauthorisedly, the makers of the film are using his goodwill and reputation without permission. Johar emphasised that the unauthorised use of his name is causing irreparable harm and damage to his reputation.
