Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth on Saturday expressed grief over the loss of life in a medal in Karur, Tamil Nadu during the public rally of TVK chief and actor Vijay.
Rajinikanth expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
In a post on X, Rajinikanth wrote, “In the incident in Karur, the news of the loss of life of innocent people shakes the heart and causes a lot of grief. My deepest condolences to those families who lost their lives.”

A large crowd in the election campaign in TVK chief and actor Vijay Ke Karur became chaotic on Saturday evening, resulting in a stampede, killing 31 people and injured many.
During the rally, many attendees allegedly fainted, and some of them were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Sources claimed that the crowd at the site triggered terror and later the stampede situation.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences on the lost life of TV chief and actor Vijay during a public rally of actor Vijay in Karur in Tamil Nadu. He wished for a rapid recovery of those injured in the incident.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “The unfortunate incident is deeply sad during a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
Expressing shock at the incident, Palaniswami of AIADMK General Secretary Edappdi performed death in the incident.
In a post on X, Palaniswami said that he has directed former minister Shri Vijayabhaskar to personally go to the hospital and provide assistance to the injured. In a post on X, the AIADMK leader wrote, “It is reported that more than 29 people lost their lives and many others are working for crowds due to the campaign for the crowd. Vijay spoke, both shocked and upset.”
He said, “I express my deepest condolences and regret the families of those who lost their lives. On behalf of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazgam, I have instructed former Minister Shri @OfficeofminmRV to personally visit the government hospital and provide assistance to the admitted people there.”

Tamil Nadu Assembly Lop Palaniswami also directed AIADMK volunteers to provide proper assistance to those receiving treatment. “In addition, according to my instructions, due to the huge congestion in the hospital area, @AIADMKOFICIAL volunteers have formed a human chain and coordinated to provide proper assistance to those receiving treatment,” he said.
He urged the DMK -led state government to ensure proper treatment for the injured and provide compensation to the families of the deceased.
