After watching the trailer of ‘Bad Newz’, actress Katrina Kaif is quite excited for her husband Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming film. On Friday, on her Instagram story, Katrina re-posted the film’s trailer and gave a shout-out. She wrote, “Can’t wait for this. Congratulations.”
The trailer of Dharma Productions’ latest comedy ‘Bad Newz’ was released on Friday. The quirky film takes a fun twist from the usual romantic-comedy, diving into the chaotic world of heterosexual oversaturation.
The trailer features Bollywood heartthrobs Vicky Kaushal and Amy Virk as two men who are on different paths to becoming fathers. Caught in the middle of this unexpected double paternity is the entry of firecracker Tripti Dimri. As per the trailer, the film will also star Neha Dhupia. The clip hints at confusion, hilarious misunderstandings and undeniable chemistry between the lead trio. From hospital mishaps to awkward family dinners, the trailer is a preview of laughs every minute.
The trailer also features a remix version of ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam’ from the 1998 hit comedy-action film ‘Duplicate’ starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre. Viewers can watch Vicky Kaushal struggle to accept his new reality. Amy Virk brings his signature comedy to the table. And Dimri makes her mark, playing a shocked but determined woman at the center of it all. ‘Bad Newz’ gives a new twist to the genre, promising an emotional rollercoaster filled with rib-tickling humor.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is a successor to the 2019 hit ‘Good Newz’, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles. Bad Newz is co-produced by him along with Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Amritpal Singh Bindra.
The film is screenplayed by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja. The film will release in theatres on July 19. Meanwhile, on the work front, Katrina was last seen in Sriram Raghavan’s film ‘Merry Christmas’ opposite actor Vijay Sethupathi. She will be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.
