Kaushiki Chakraborty and Shantinu Motra to launch their new music series on 11 July

Shantinu says that he is thinking about making some detailed records with Kaushiki as he collaborated on the song ‘Lagi Lagi’ MTV Coke Studio Season 2. “It was more than 12 years ago. As a composer, I knew that I could do a lot of things with his voice. What we both had to do next, but could not move forward due to our busy programs. But when we shot ‘Bhagirathi’ on a boat with a violinist Ambi Subramaniam in the middle of the night, the idea of ​​being an album.”

Shantinu says that his experience of working in films with directors Shyam Benegal, Sudhir Mishra and Vidya Vinod Chopra believes him that all art needs are in the context of the needs of art. He says, “I did not want to keep these songs out, I wanted to tell a story. This is where the idea of ​​a web series came. A lighter note, because we did not have a budget, I became a director myself.”

The singer says that moving beyond an individual place, she began to understand how a group of musicians could have fun and learn while making music. “I realized that there is no right or wrong in music. It is about expressing ourselves and finding our true story. If music is a language, then the language is not complete in itself. What we learn and how we learn music, but why not. Why it is in music that we have many stories about many stories. Six songs are about different topics, but things that are what shrinks and I have experiences.”

The song ‘Nay Bhor’ written by Abipasha is a tribute to four musicians who have inspired the singer – his guru and famous tabla artist Gyan Prakash Ghosh, Tabla Vizard Ustad Zakir Hussain and Shubankar Bannerjee, a tabla experience and Vocalist Rashij. The third episode is about the bond she shares with her father and guru Ajoy Chakraborty. It is told as a story and leads to the song ‘Mere Suron Meen’ written by Tanvir Ghazi.
