Kavya Trehan’s Hyperl Tour promises an immersive experience

When 14-year-old Kavya Trehan told her mother that she wanted to perform on an open mike (the way she serves alcohol), her mother did not panic or gave a lecture-she said, “Cool, I will come with you.” In this incident, Kavya, mostly just wanted to pay some attention, got up and whatever popped up in his head. This was not right, but that bold little moment started a head in music, and until 17, she was already on a tour.

Through his Hyperl Tour across India, Midway, singer-songwriter and producer Kavya speaks on the phone about the story behind Hyperl, and means that his music is to be really shared. Despite touring since her teenage, Kavya calls Hyperial her most ambitious project. “Every tour of me has its own taste, but it is a different. It’s not just about performing, it’s about making an experience that hits every meaning,” she says, “she brings a mixture of stress, enthusiasm and vulnerability, and I love that chaos.”

The ‘Hyperial’ is both a title and a concept, she says and the emergent world behind it was seen by her sister Khyati and brother -in -law Sachit, who has been listening to Kavya’s music since her school days. “He saw how my acoustic, biological music developed into some electronic and cinematic,” Kavya shares. “So he imagined a world, set in the future, where archaeologists highlight the remains with our time, our voice, color, emotions. How does this discovery look? How would it feel?”

The hyperial is the answer to the question-to say, the scene, visual, costumes and a three-part performance with a platform that feels more like a gallery. Kavya compares it to the theater. “There is a diastopian voice that guides you through classes. First, where you are, then, feel that you are suspended in time; and in the end, surrender to change.”

The tour marks several first for Kavya, such as his own goods, a visual artist on the tour and a dedicated sound engineer. “These can be the child’s steps, but they are mine,” she says. “This tour allows me to be selfish in the best way to present music, how I want, not how it is expected.”

Instead of releasing EP and then visits, Kavya has opted to do it in another way. “Live experience comes first. I want music to be discovered as a piece in a gallery. This record will come out after the tour in May,” Kavya says, “as well as, on an emotional journey, the audience on an emotional journey ranging the audience ranging from organic-singer-singer pieces to electronic, atmospheric soundscape.” Saw instrumentation, even emotional tone. One of Kavya’s Grause was about performing a single performance. “I was tired of feeling alone on the stage,” she confesses. “I wanted to go back to perform with a band, as I did in the beginning.” His colleagues on the tour include Goya, Tej Modi and visual artist Nikunj Patel. “I am very thrilled for this team. Everyone is chosen from the intestine before great artists – great humans.”

Tour so far

So how did his music journey begin? “Honestly, I think it was a conspiracy,” Kavya laughs. “My mother gave me the name Kavya, and now I really live the meaning of my name.”

In a home filled with multilingual music by her mother and sister – from George Michael to Regional Indian Classics – Kavya absorbed a wide range of sounds. “My mother speaks and reads a lot of Indian dialects. We will listen to Bengali songs one day, Malayalam next.” Her school in Delhi, Mirambika, has also shared her artistic meaning, she shares.

As he is ready for the show in Goa, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bengaluru, Kavya says that the original of her visit remains untouched. “The show is not changing for each city. Tech may be different, such as Goa may have low light but can perform? It is all for me. Take it or leave it,” he grins.
