Kerala businessman Bobby Chemmanur detained in sexual harassment case filed by female actor

Kerala’s Kochi City Police has taken businessman Bobby Chemmanur into custody, barely 24 hours after registering a case against him on a complaint by a female actor that she targeted him on social media and in person while attending an inauguration event. “Our stand has always been that we do not make any difference between Bobby Chemmanur and Shaji. His custody is the culmination of our action initiated from the moment the case was registered on Tuesday evening. He was detained from a distant district,” said Ernakulam Central Subdivision Assistant Commissioner C. Jayakumar, who is monitoring the investigation.

Soon after filing the petition against Mr. Chemmanur, the actor had made a social media post in the form of a letter addressed to him. “I have filed a complaint against you with the Ernakulam Central Police for your continuous snooping on me.
