Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday gave interim relief to Malayalam rapper Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, instructing that they should not be arrested until their anticipatory bail argument in the rape case is fully heard and dealt with.
The hearing on this petition continued, as the court continued with further proceedings for Wednesday.
Vedan, who has been accused of sexual harassment by a female doctor, has escaped since the case came to light.
The Kerala Police had earlier issued a lookout notice, fearing that he could try to leave the country.
According to the cedar recorded in Kochi last month, the complainant alleged that he was sexually abused by Vedan between 2021 and 2023.

Her relationship began when she was a medical student, and she claims that she assaulted her on the pretext of marriage on at least five occasions in Kozhikode, Kochi and other places.
The complaint also mentions that they lived briefly together.
He said that in 2021, when Vedan was preparing to release his first album, he said that he was preparing to release Rs 15,000 and Rs 8,300 on two occasions.
His acquaintance allegedly began on social media, but in 2023, Vedan allegedly broke the relationship, causing a crisis and motivated him to file a complaint.
Two other women have also accused the rapper of misconduct.
25 -year -old Vedan raised for fame under the banner voice of Woyslees.
He made his debut in 2020 and was recognized as a lyricist in hit films such as Naithtu, Karam and Manjmel Boys.
His socially conscious rap style did a big job in Kerala.
This is not his first brush with controversy. In April, Vedan was arrested along with eight other people, which took place after a drug raid in his rented apartment near here, although he was later released on bail.
At the same time, forest officials briefly detained a tiger tooth on their necklace.
Despite their growing popularity, the current allegations have put a shadow on the career of the young rapper, with the next decision of the court, their bail arguments have been eagerly awaited.
