If the playlist cuisted on your phone has become a tad predictable, make a bine for some live for the Chaudhya Memorial Hall and don’t be surprised if your feet start exploiting a tattoo. Kiara Academy of Performing Arts will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a music showcase at the end of this week.

Kiara director Wendy Dixon says that the mood has a series that the academy has been following for the last few years. “This is our fifth concert and that is why we have called it 5. It is a sign for Dave Brubech’s ‘Tech Five’ and we will present a coral rendering of that Jazz composition.”

The academy kickstarts its 20th year with this concert and concludes the ceremony in 2026, says Wendy, “As we always do, we will bring various styles of music on stage. Our single and group presentations will complete classical music, Jazz, Classic Rock, Chorl music and more, which will accompany the youth, which will complete the sanyus.”

She says that in the first half of the show, Bobby Darin, Eddie Rabit, The Creerest Clearwater Revival, and will be tune with “and a rain medley keeping in mind the weather”. In addition to a special presentation after Broadway and Disney Musical in the second half, the congregation is being tightly wrapped in.

Since it is a historical festival for the academy, Wendy says they are all taking out the stops. “Our choreographer Aahinata Mohandesi, 21, and Rachel An Franco, 18, who have been with us since the junior songs have come with us with amazing routines. With about six concerts programs under his belt, they have gained excellence in keeping the show together. Similarly, our six -member group has finished themselves in the use of their colors.”

“In the mood: Tech 5 is going to have a spectacular performance of sound, movement and dramatic people, as it is enough in terms of range and list of performances,” Wendy says.

To celebrate its anniversary, the academy will present shorter concerts and concerts throughout the year. As usual, a part of income from their show will benefit Bosco Rainbow Home for girls in Chamrajpet.
