Kit Harington shares his thoughts on the final season of Game of Thrones, saying he understands why fans weren’t happy with the choices.
Kit Harington is opening up about the criticism he received over Game of Thrones season 8 and admitting that mistakes were made. The actor opened up about the hugely popular show, on which he played Jon Snow, in a new interview British GQHe said he understands why many people thought the film’s ending was ‘rushed’. What did Kit say?
During the conversation, Kit shared his opinion on the divisive reactions to Game of Thrones season 8 and said: “I think if there was a mistake at the end of Thrones it was that we were all so tired, we couldn’t see it any further. And so I understand that some people felt it was rushed and I can agree with them. But I’m not sure there was a choice. I look at pictures of myself in that final season and I look tired. I look exhausted. I didn’t have another season.”
‘Everyone is entitled to their opinion’
He also spoke about the negative reactions the show has received from fans, saying, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think there were some mistakes in the end story-wise. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t work.”
Despite the divisive reactions to the ending of Game of Thrones, HBO has continued to expand the franchise. Kit had earlier confirmed that their Game of Thrones spinoff centered on Jon Show has unfortunately been put on hold as the producers could not develop the story well. Meanwhile, the last episode of House of the Dragon season 2 premiered earlier this month, and it too received similarly mixed reactions. It will return for two more seasons. Also, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has also been confirmed, and it is in development.
