More than 48 hours have passed but the accused involved in the knife attack on Hindi cinema actor Saif Ali Khan are still absconding.
Mumbai Police said that more than 15 people were interrogated throughout the night but no trace of the accused has been found yet. The fingerprints recovered from the actor’s residence by the forensic team do not match those of any person questioned so far in police records.

Considering the seriousness of the case, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has formed 40 teams and is actively searching for the accused, who, according to CCTV footage, entered Satguru Sharan at 1.37 am on Thursday and left at 2.33 am. .
Later he was seen near Link Road. Police are interrogating people with any kind of criminal record to trace the suspect. Any person seen roaming around the area at night is also interrogated.
Residents of Bhandup and Mulund on Saturday said the suspect was seen stealing shoes in several residential societies. His pattern shows that he generally enters the society after 8 pm
A resident said that he was caught three times in his society. In one such incident, the suspect entered the society posing as a caterer and took shelter in a vacant flat. Later that night, security guards caught him, but he was released after being mistaken for a legitimate caterer.
Fresh visuals of the attacker have emerged where he is seen in a blue shirt buying earphones from a mobile phone store in Dadar around 9 am, the day after he attacked Mr Khan.
Later he was seen at Bandra Railway Station in the same blue shirt. Police believe he has moved towards Nala Sopara and Virar and a team has been deployed to search for him. In another set of scenes, the suspect was seen wearing a yellow shirt, however, details of the scene have not yet been confirmed.

According to police officials, the suspect is a professional thief who avoids detection by repeatedly changing his clothes and avoids using mobile phones.
The officials have also interrogated three persons of interest who were captured in the CCTV footage of Bandra. A carpenter who had worked two days before the incident was also interrogated.
No arrest has been made in the case yet.
