Netflix and TVF’s hit student-led drama Kota Factory is back with its third season. Drama, suspense and emotion are at the heart of this black-and-white show based on Kota, which shows how students navigate the struggles of life in the city while pursuing their ambitions. Like the last two seasons, this time too Jeetu Bhaiya is back with his words of wisdom to help AIMERS students succeed in another exam season. However, this time he is not mentally strong enough to move forward with his life amidst the chaos of this city and the difficulties of the students. Kota Factory Season 3 is gritty, natural, endearing, relatable and inspiring all at once.
the story
Kota Factory Season 3 picks up from where Season 2 ended. A student of Jeetu Bhaiya, played by Jeetu Bhaiya, commits suicide and the teacher within him takes it as a personal loss. Not only does he seek the help of a psychiatrist, but he also takes time off from work to deal with his mental health. On the other hand, his three favorite students Vaibhav, Meena and Uday (played by Mayur More, Ranjan Raj and Alam Khan) inquire about his return.
Jeetu Bhaiyya returns to AIMERS, but he is not able to handle things as easily as before. Everything reminds him of that incident and no matter what, he is torn between playing the role of Jeetu Bhaiya and Jeetu Sir in front of his students. Amidst all this, season 3 finally brings the curtain on the JEE exams and we finally get to see if Vaibhav and his gang are able to crack the exam and get one step closer to their dreams.
directing
Pratish Mehta, in his directorial debut, has taken the story in more depth in Season 3. He talks to Kota Factory series creators Puneet Batra (head writer), Praveen Yadav, Nikita Lalwani, Manish Chandwani and Raghav Subbu about the real world, not the ideal world. They provide a deep insight into the life of a JEE aspirant living in Kota and bring out every emotion associated with it. Be it jealousy of your family member or feeling inferior to your lover, parents’ trust or changing friendships and its dynamics, Kota Factory Season 3 has room for every emotion.
Raghav Subbu has done a commendable job of showing the other side of Jeetu Bhaiya and ultimately explaining how he manages it all. However, the makers have again used Ehsaas Channa’s character only as a prop. This time too, the lone NEET representative did not get a big view at the Kota factory.
Considering that Kota is not only known for ITT coaching but also for medical entrance preparation, the makers have once again given Ehsas Channa a sideline track. By the end, we don’t know if she clears her NEET UG exam or not and it’s a big disappointment. However, bringing Tilotma Shome as Pooja Didi is a masterstroke.
Also, some parts of the series seem to drag. A mother literally confronts teachers about her son’s lack of attention, which is very difficult to watch. Vaibhav’s confidence seems too much in some scenes. Meena’s sudden torture was also not well timed. Even Vartika’s low self-confidence seems irrelevant given her final results.
acting
This is Jitendra Kumar’s world and we are living in it. After Panchayati Season 3, the actor is back in the TVF clan with Kota Factory Season 3. His character Jeetu Bhaiya is the protagonist of this edition of Kota Factory. His vulnerability, despair, deteriorating mental health and dilemma between staying in Kota and moving to Jaipur for better opportunities, are all brought to life by Jitendra Kumar. The actor is very good and the last scene can really make his fans cry out loud for their favorite teacher.
Mayur More has once again become the voice of JEE aspirants. There is a monologue in the fourth episode, where the actors win your heart in the break between boards and entrance exams. Tilotma Shome is a great artist. Whatever she will appear on screen, the audience will be delighted to see it. A scene between him and Uday’s mother is the highlight of the series and might make you think that he is the perfect successor to the legacy of AIMERS and Jeetu Bhaiya. Ranjan Raj and Alam Khan stay true to their characters and deserve praise for their acting. Whatever character Ehsaas Channa plays in the series is important. His ‘going to my Marvel Universe’ dialogue is perfectly crafted by the makers.
How is the series?
Quota Factory Season 3 feels like a personal watch. Every viewer can relate to their emotions and personal growth or decline. This season also gives you a breath of fresh air and makes you feel the young minds immersed in preparation. Jeetu Bhaiya and his scenes are worth watching while others also win your heart with their character.
