Veteran Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad on Sunday (July 13, 2025) at the age of 83. The actor was unwell due to age related issues for the last few months. With a career spread in more than 750 films and more than 750 films, the actor left an indelible impression as a comedian, villain and a character artist.
The news of this passing has sent shockwaves to the Indian film industry, with many prominent personalities such as Chiranjeevi, Junior NTR and Ravi Teja expressed their condolences.
Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, in a post on X, called Kota a versatility, reminds about how they both made their debut in the 1978 film Pranam kharadu“Subsequently, he acted in hundreds of films, portrayed countless diverse roles, attracting Telugu audiences with his unique and distinct style, and achieved a permanent place in his hearts. The Telugu superstar Venkatesh Daggubati, who worked with Kota in many films such as Sathruvu, Suryavamsam, and Adivari Mattalaku Orthuce Verule, called him a legend in every sense, “brought greatness for every role.”
In a post shared on its official X handle, RRR-Star Junior NTR called Kota Srinivasa Rao a great actor who breathed his life in his roles. He wrote, “The moments I shared and acted with him in my cinematic journey will remain unforgettable.”
