Years before the OTT boom, television premieres were a big deal. It was quite common for family members to watch a popular film on a festival day. A three-hour film would stretch to six hours due to the abundance of advertisements, but people did not care about it. For them, it was more about the experience of watching films together rather than taking them seriously.

Krishnam love friend, Starring Ganesh, it feels like a film made for that era. Today, when the streaming wave has threatened the big screen, it is impossible to make a film as old as this one. krishnam love friend will draw the audience to the theatres. In fact, to avoid giving any hints about the major twist of the film, the makers did not even release a teaser or trailer!

Krishnam Pranay Sakhi (Kannada)

Director: Srinivasa Raju

Mould: Ganesh, Malavika Nair, Sharanya Shetty, Sadhu Kokila, Avinash

Runtime: 160 minutes

Plot: Krishna, a successful businessman, wants to get married. He falls in love, wins over his girlfriend and convinces his family for the marriage. But, are they destined to be together?

Director Srinivasa Raju has made an interesting choice in narrating a love story through a non-linear screenplay. But apart from this aspect, nothing works in the film’s favour. Ganesh plays Krishna, the owner of the Krishna Group of Companies. Malavika Nair plays Krishna’s assistant-cum-friend Pranay. While we are understanding their equation, the director takes us through their flashbacks in which Krishna tries to woo Pranay. The successful businessman disguises himself as a humble driver to avoid scaring Pranay, who runs an orphanage.

So what happened between the two timelines? “Memory loss,” whispered a man sitting behind me during the show. The concept of memory loss is as old as the mountains. Unless you look at it specifically, it’s hard to use this idea to good effect. The director fails to do that, and what’s worse is that he opts for another old adage in romantic dramas: love at first sight.

Krishnam Pranay Rakhi The story is spoilt by shallow writing. The Krishna Group of Companies is a powerful organisation, but we don’t know what it is famous for. The protagonist keeps attending meetings that are meaningless. Meanwhile, Pranay’s orphanage looks like a small but pretty homestay and not like an institution dedicated to children.

Krishna’s assistant keeps reminding us about the hundreds of women waiting to marry the billionaire, making us think that he is doing Pranaya a favour by loving her. Pranaya is calm, while another woman (played by Sharanya Shetty) from Krishna’s rival company – who is in love with him – is charming and hot-tempered. Perhaps this is the director’s idea of a rich and successful woman.

When? krishnam love friend When it was announced, people talked about the strange combination of director Srinivasa Raju and Ganesh. Srinivasa Raju had just completed this gritty and violent film. dandupalya While Ganesh is known for romantic comedies, the makers used this unusual pairing as a base for the film’s promotion. However, the reality is that this pairing has not been able to do anything special; as for Ganesh, he has nothing new to show as his films seem repetitive.
