The actress, who made her debut in 2009 with the Telugu film ‘Boney’, began her note by writing: “I have spent the last 15 years, i.e. most of my life, as an actress. What started out as a hobby, a way to pay the bills and get recognition, slowly turned into a passion! A passion I didn’t even know I had in me.”
She said that during this journey she has grown as a person and an actor. During this time, her deep understanding of business attracted her more towards the film industry.
He further added: “Today as I complete 15 years as an actor, I want to share a story with you. I used to run a boutique with my mother since my teenage years. We used to shop, design and spend a lot of time buying clothes and so on. So a few days after the release of my Kannada film ‘Googly’, we went to a mall.”
When the actress entered the store everything was fine. When she came out she found hundreds of people standing outside the store.
“I saw people standing around the aisle and staring at me. I didn’t understand what was happening, until the crowd started chanting ‘Doctori Doctori’. I couldn’t believe my ears and eyes! I was so overwhelmed that I grabbed my father’s arm and said, ‘Let’s go to the parking lot Pa, we have to leave’. That day I realised the power of cinema and our industry. I went from being a teenager to an actor and eventually a star, so quickly that I was scared to blink. Soon after, life changed,” she added.
In these 15 years, the actress has worked with some of the biggest stars of Indian cinema like Pawan Kalyan, Yash and others. She made her Bollywood debut with ‘Raaz: The Reboot’.
The actress shared: “Today I want to take this opportunity to thank myself. The young, naive, trusting, passionate, courageous me. I am here today because of her, because she could have given up. I know she wanted to give up when things got tough, but she didn’t. She kept going. And I want to thank myself for today. I am so proud of the person I have become and I wouldn’t change anything about myself.”
“A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. My family, my siblings, my husband and my friends, but most of all, the people who have given me work and believed in my talent, and the fans who have carried me with their love. Thank you for trusting me to entertain you. Thank you for watching my films and thank you for believing in me. Lots of love #KritiKharbanda #15yearsofkritikharbanda”, she concluded.
