Comedian Kunal Kamra says he was approached to feature the popular reality series “Bigg Boss” in the upcoming season, a proposal that he turned down.
On his Instagram story on Tuesday, the comic shared a screenshot of his alleged WhatsApp conversation, claiming with someone “handling casting for this season of Bigg Boss”.
According to the screenshot shared by Kamra, the casting professional said that the name of the comic came up because he came as someone who could find him interesting.
“I know it was not on your radar, but honestly, it is such a crazy platform to show your real vibe and win over the audience on a large scale. What do you think? Should we talk about it?” The person wrote in the lesson.
In his response, the comedian said: “I will examine a lot in a mental hospital …” It is not clear whether Kamra, who is facing several FIRs for his comments, was offered the 19th season of “Bigg Boss” or season four of its OTT version.
In 2023, there were reports that Kamra was talking to join “Bigg Boss OTT 2”.
Comedian, known for his anti-establishment ideas, is entangled in a controversy of his ‘traitor’ Jib’s controversy in his latest stand-up show “Naya Bharat” against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, which premiered on his YouTube channel last month.
On Monday, Kamra wrote an open letter online ticketing platform Bookmyshow, requesting that he is not giving it either or has earned it through his single show for years to hand over the contact information of the audience.
Earlier this week, the comedian also shifted the Bombay High Court, with an attempt to remove a cedar lodged by the city police for his alleged remarks against Shinde by the police of the city, in which the Madras High Court expanded its interim existing bail in the case till 17 April.
Kamra also claimed that he was getting death threats after the show and hence, requested the police to question him through a video conference.
