California: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, California, on Friday to help distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.
According to People, the couple connected with the affected families after hearing about the tragic experience of the LA wildfires and tried to support them emotionally.
Meghan and Harry thanked first responders, including LA County firefighters and police. The Duke and Duchess later met World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés at food stations to praise the relief teams.
According to People, the couple made a monetary donation and plan to continue supporting the recovery.
Pasadena Mayor Victor Grodo praised the Duke and Duchess’s visit.
“They want to be as helpful as possible… We visited some of the affected families in some of the burned areas in Pasadena and Altadena. They took the time and spent time to meet with the affected people. They are very caring people who love their “Concerned about friends and neighbors.”
He said Meghan and Harry, whose Archewell Foundation has a long-standing relationship with World Central Kitchen, visited the center “anonymously.” “No one knew they were serving food with masks on.”
