Legendary music composer Ilaiyaraja meets Tamil Nadu CM Stalin

Chennai: Following his much awaited symphony performance in London, famous music composer Ilaiyaraja met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Tamil Nadu CM praised Ilaiyaraja for his achievement.

MK Stalin posted pictures on X with Ilaiyaraja, “musician @ilaiyaraaja, who has returned from a record-brakeing trip to London #Symphony, met the person for congratulating me for my journey and decided to celebrate half-shingles for thanking me!

Veteran music Indian composer Ilaiyaraja returned to Chennai on March 10 after her much awaited symphony performance in London. His homecoming was no less than grand, as he was warmly obtained by a host of political and cultural data at Chennai Airport, including Tamil Nadu Minister Thangam Tatkarasu, BJP State Vice President Karu Nagarajan and VCK executive Vanani Arsu.

On behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu, Minister Thangam Tharasu welcomed the master, accepting his contribution to Indian and global music.
Karu Nagarajan of BJP, and VK’s Vanni Arasu also celebrated their heartfelt greetings to Ilaiyaraja by celebrating their extraordinary career.

Speaking to the media, Iilaiyaraja thanked his supporters, especially his fans in London. “Thanks to all. All of you sent me with a smiling face, making the incident very successful. The love I received from fans during sympony was heavy. Every moment the audience was appreciated,” he said.

Ilaiyaraja, who is widely considered one of the greatest music composers in India, is famous for his work in Tamil and Telugu cinema.

His brilliant career has spread over four decades, during which he composed music for more than a thousand films, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.

Born in 1943 as Aranathisikan, Born in Pannapuram village in the district, Ilaiyaraja started her journey in music at an early age.

His compositions have not only enchanted the audience, but have often given strong political messages, which capture the essence of social events and ceremonies.

His unique musical style combines folk rhythm with classical techniques, making him a trendsetter in South Indian cinema.

Mestro’s works have stood on the test of time, which echo with the audience around the world.

Some of his most prestigious songs include ‘Machan Pathingla’ of ‘Annakili (1975)’, this song marked the beginning of Ilaiyaraja’s music journey, which combines Lok Tal with contemporary film music. Its sweet attraction is dear to generations.

This song sung by Janaki to ‘Metty Oli Katrudu’ to ‘Metty (1980)’ continues to mesmerize the audience with its mesmerized songs and raga.

‘Thepandi Chemayle’ from ‘Nayagan (1987)’: A famous classic, deep emotional influence of a famous film has made it unforgettable for the audience.

‘Thai Mogambigai (1982)’: ‘Janani Janani’ with a high reverence devotional song, it became a anthem of faith during the 1980s, which is still nurtured by devotees.

This song sung by ‘Aval Appadithan (1978)’: Uravugal Thodarakthai ‘: The song sung by KJ Yasudas continues to touch the hearts with its raga, which mastered the feeling of Ilaiyaraja.

Ilaiyaraja’s music has impressed the film industry and has deeply influenced the cultural and emotional fabric of Indian society.
