After entertaining music lovers for more than five decades, iconic rock band Aerosmith is retiring from touring.
On Friday, the band thanked music fans for their love in an Instagram post and announced they were ending their “Peace Out: The Farewell” tour early because frontman Steven Tyler was unable to sing as well as before due to a vocal injury. The tour was initially scheduled to end in 2025.

“It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to all of you, our Blue Army, that spark caught fire and has burned for five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and it is because of you that we made rock ‘n’ roll history,” the band wrote in its note.
The band thanked fans for being part of the “soundtrack of your life”, saying they have always tried to be the best they can be when performing. Unfortunately, Tyler’s voice, which he said is “an instrument like no other”, is no longer the same.
The band said, “He has worked tirelessly for many months to get his voice back to pre-injury condition. We have watched him fight alongside the best medical team. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his voice injury is not possible. We have made the heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”
The band added, “We are grateful beyond words to everyone who was excited to hit the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team, and the thousands of talented people who made our historic runs possible. The final thank you to you – the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Keep dreaming. You’ve made our dreams come true,”

Fans who bought tickets will be refunded their money, the band said, including Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. Aerosmith, known for hits like “Sweet Emotion”, “Love in an Elevator”, “Cryin'”, “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and many others, had started their tour in 2023 but had to postpone it in September that year after Tyler injured his vocal cord during a concert in New York.
He later revealed that the injury, which saw Tyler break a bone in his larynx, was more serious than initially feared and that he would be unable to tour for a long time, with doctors advising the musician to rest his larynx.
