According to reports from TMZ and other media outlets, Liam may have been intoxicated in the final hours before his death. He reportedly ‘broke his laptop’ in the hotel lobby and had to be taken back to his room. Reuters reported that police were informed of an “aggressive individual who may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”
An audio of the hotel manager’s 911 call to police has been broadcast by an Argentinian news channel. It shows the owner/manager saying, “We have a guest who is on drugs and destroying the entire room, so we need someone to come over.” Reuters also confirmed this and said that the call was crisis. “When he’s conscious, he’s destroying the entire room, and we need you to send someone,” the worker said, adding that the guest’s life was in danger because his room had a balcony.

The hotel manager reportedly heard a loud noise at the rear of the hotel. According to a statement from Buenos Aires police, police arrived and found a man who had fallen from the balcony of his room. The deceased was later confirmed to be a British singer. A crowd of fans gathered outside the hotel, some hugging each other and crying.
Liam Payne is survived by a son named Bear, who he had with British TV personality and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl.
