Talking about her role, Bhumi had earlier said, “I am naturally drawn to challenges. It’s my core. I have always done it since my debut… I believe we are in the age of content and actors can really shine with these opportunities. Daldal is the perfect project for me to showcase a completely new side of my acting repertoire. It presents me in a completely new way and I love pushing my limits.”
She said, “I loved the character in Daldal, playing a woman who has broken the glass ceiling by being appointed as the DCP of Mumbai. She is a super achiever in a man’s world and I loved that layer of the show, as well as all the beautiful complexities that the role and the script had. I think a character like this will resonate with today’s times, as a woman is no longer bound and is ambitious and independent.”
On working with producer Vikram Malhotra again, Bhumi said, “I am really excited to team up with Vikram again after our blockbusters Toilet-Ek Prem Katha and the much-acclaimed Durgavati. I am delighted to be working with minds like Suresh Triveni whose work I admire so much and of course Amrit Raj Gupta! I hope we can create another blockbuster together for Amazon Prime Video and make India proud on the global content landscape. My last hit streaming project Bhakshak brought me to a lot of people across the world and I want Daldal to do the same.”
The series Daldal promises to be an intense, gripping story, which will see Bhumi Pednekar’s character, DCP Rita Ferreira, investigating multiple murders while dealing with her past and present.
