Actors Lily Gladstone, Devin Joy Randolph and Catherine O’Hara and filmmakers Cord Jefferson and Boots Riley are among the lucky ones invited to join the film academy.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Tuesday that a total of 487 artists have received invitations this year, including actors, directors, costume designers, publicists and executives. Those who accept the invitation will be able to vote in the Oscar race.
If all invited members of the Class of 2024 say yes, the Academy would have 9,934 voting members and include 35% women, 20% from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities and 20% international.
The invitees include 19 Oscar winners, including Best Documentary award winner Mstislav Chernov (20 days in Mariupol) And the anatomy of falling 71 nominees, including filmmaker Justin Triet, as well as Sandra Hüller, the color purple Daniel Brooks, Past lives Filmmakers Celine Song and Oppenheimer Production Designer: Ruth de Jong.
Other actors invited include Jessica Alba, Greta Lee and his wife. Past lives Co-starring Teo Yoo, Tia Carrere and Stephanie Beatriz. Others who have been asked to join the directing branch include Alice Diop, Leila Aviles, Fede Alvarez, Evie Rockwell, Emma Seligman and David Yates.

Executive branch invitees include Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Alamo Drafthouse founder Tim League and Sundance Film Festival programming director Kim Yutani. The 97th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 2 in Los Angeles.
