London:
Actress Lily-Rose Depp says she felt traumatized and disappointed after watching her father Johnny Depp’s 1990 fantasy film. Edward ScissorhandsIn an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, the actor said that she was three years old when she was allowed to watch the Tim Burton-directed film, which stars her father as Edward, an artificial humanoid. Who has scissor blades instead of hands. The film also starred Winona Ryder.
Lily said that she was troubled not by the appearance of her father’s character but by the way everyone treated him in the film.
The 25-year-old actor said, “I was shocked by it. Not because I thought he was creepy, but because everyone was being so mean to him and I got really upset.”
She added, “I remember being scared of it, which is weird, because I don’t have many memories from when I was so young. It’s a tough memory from childhood.”
Lilly is currently starring in Robert Eggers’ Gothic horror film Nosferatu, adapted from German director FW Murnau’s 1922 silent horror film, which was based on Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel “Dracula.”
The film is billed as a Gothic tale of passion between Ellen Hutter (Lily), a young woman in 19th century Germany, and the ancient Transylvanian vampire Nosferatu (Bill Skarsgård) who stalks her, bringing with him untold terrors .
Lillee drew comparisons between the character of Edward and Nosferatu from Burton’s film.
He added, “Edward is a good guy and Nosferatu is kind of a bad guy, but there’s a part of me that feels a little sympathy for Nosferatu. I mean, am I sick of feeling that way.”
He also admitted that he has an interest in darker genres.
He said, “As an actor, you expect your role to be as meaty as possible, so you have as much to do as possible. Because nothing is directly dark, that’s the most complicated thing.”
Nosferatu also stars Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe. This film will be released in India on January 10.
