‘Loca Chapter 1: Chandra’ review: Kalyani Priyadarshan stole the show in this unprecedented fantasy thriller

Loca Chapter 1: lunar The word takes you to a different world, a one where a supernatural is between mortal. This time, we have a woman, Chandra.

The film Bancolol by Dalkar Salman’s Vafarr Films is a cinematic treatment and can even be a lesson for many people to master the superhero style. Loca The film’s director and writer, the cap for Dominic Arun, has another wing, which has rebuilt the audience with a black comedy drama Gentleman In 2017.

Kalyani is Priyadarshan Chandra, who comes to Bengaluru, which we have seen in many films, on the contrary. His support system advises him to stay out of trouble. Chandra’s apartment is just in front of two unemployed youth, Sunny (Naslean) and Venu (Chandu Salimkumar) occupied by one.

The lunar is recurring and mysterious. The audience gets a glimpse of who she is in a clever shot scene, where she takes to a character (Sharat Sabha) when she misbehaves with a girl. Even if Sunny is fascinated by her, she becomes suspicious and decides to follow her. Only then we know who is the lunar.

It is here that Dominic scored with his writing. He manifests the mystery about her with such cunning and accuracy that the viewer manifests. A brilliant hearing and well -structured flashback gives goosebumps.

The idea of supernatural creatures living among us has already been discovered in world cinema. Nevertheless, it is exciting to see how the director has handled the idea in a Malayalam film. The world he creates around this concept is very exciting to ignore.

The production design, visual effects and prosperity on the screen in terms of frames, is all done without compromising the script. Malayalam Cinema, Sansti Balachandran seems to have sufficient contribution from one of the skilled actors, who have been credited with additional screenplay and drama.

Come to Kalyani, who plays the first female superhero of Malayalam cinema. Dominic knows his strength and weaknesses. He has tapped into his swag, onscreen attraction and agility (remember his MMA-Directed character in Joshi Antony?) To make her chandra, without pushing her too much and the demand for character. She is tall with compatures and confidence, takes herself with poetry in dress and look.

Naslen is tailor for role with its underlying attraction and comic timing. Chandu plays the role of his entire colleague and even sometimes reminds you of his father, actor Salimkumar. Arun Kurien has fun as his friend Nigil. Tamil actor Sandy recalled his role as a wrong police officer, Nachiappan, which shuts down the horns with Chandra.

It is clear that the directors were on the same page with their technicians, cinematographer (Nimish Ravi), Editor (Chaman Chacko), composer (Jake Baijoy), Sound Designer (Don Vincent), and Sound Mixer (Shri Rajkrishnan). Attractive color palette, sleek cuts, rawging background score and music piece, Exuberant Soundscape … The film has all this. Add it to the production design by Banglan. Action choreographer Yanik Ben Stun again, especially in the lunar flashback scene.

Now, for the cameo barrage that talks a lot before the release of the film, suspense is over! Their glimpses are sufficient for whistle-qualified moments in the theater. Especially he brings a favorite onscreen pair together!

The film is not without defects, but they are minor that can be ignored. A dramatic experience celebrated, Loca Are there many stories being told, as shown in two post-credit scenes. It has certainly laid a solid foundation for a large cinematic universe, which leads the envelope to Malayalam cinema, which has already set high set for the film’s enthusiasts over the years.
