Los Angeles in the US witnessed a major crisis in recent times when its suburbs were engulfed in wildfire on Tuesday (January 7), which spread to 27,000 acres by Wednesday.
At least five people were killed and countless injured as 150,000 residents were forced to evacuate their homes. A state of emergency was also declared by the US government.
The worst affected areas are the neighborhoods of Altadena and Sylmar, as well as, the exclusive Pacific Palisades, where many Hollywood A-listers and celebrities live in their luxurious mansions.

“I love you, Altadena. Grateful for getting my family and pets out before it was too late last night (and eternal gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets).
“Honestly, I am shocked and appalled to have lost so many people, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants have been destroyed. So many friends and loved ones have also lost everything. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild. Sending love to all affected and trying to control this,” he wrote.
Emmy-award winning actor James Woods shared a series of posts on his ex handle in which he described the situation he was stuck in.
“To all the wonderful people who reached out to us, thank you for being so concerned. I’m telling you that we were able to successfully evacuate. I don’t know at this time if our house is still standing, but sadly The point is that the houses are not on our little street,” he wrote in one of his posts.

star wars Actor Mark Hamill told his followers on Instagram that he has fled his Malibu home with his wife and pet dog. In his Instagram post, he described this fire as ‘the most horrifying since 93’.
Paris Hilton also lost her home in the massive fire. He wrote a long note to X.
An excerpt from their note reads, “The heartbreak that words can’t express. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and watching our house burn down in Malibu on live TV is something that no one can Should never be experienced.
“This home was where we made so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took her first steps and where we dreamed of making lifelong memories with London.”

Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis was also forced to vacate her home. “Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. Many others have lost everything,” he wrote on Instagram.

Praising rescue workers, he wrote, “Thank you so much to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly throughout the night and continuing to help the affected families.”
Amid the crisis, the unveiling of the Oscar nominations was postponed to January 19, to give Academy members affected by the fire more time to cast their ballots this week.
