The 23rd edition of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) has unveiled the 2025 lineup. This festival will open with the direction of Varsh Bharath Dirty girl,

This year’s lineups include a mixture of South Asian films from countries like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, America, UK and Canada along with international co-construction from France, Singapore and Norway. The IFFLA 2025 will include 27 films, including seven legend facilities, a documentary, 18 shorts and a special two-episode screening of an anthology series.

The festival consists of two world premiere, six North American premiere, three American premiere and 14 Los Angeles Premier. Iffla’s artistic director Anu Rangchar said, “Beyond individual highlights, this year’s lineup celebrates the rich variety of South Asian cinema in both in front of the camera along with a strong emphasis on women-operated narratives.”

At the center of this year’s lineup Sabar Bonda (Cactus pear), fresh with its grand jury win in Sunndans. The first feature of Rohan Kanwade is a ground-raising discovery of quir intimacy within the harsh social norms of India.
Other standout features include Ram Reddy’s North American premiere (Thithi, StoryA mysterious story led by Manoj Bajpayee, which plays the role of the owner of a property, which faces an unexplained fire consuming his land. The film also has a stellar cast, which includes Priyanka Bose, Tilotama Shom and Deepak Dobaril.
Deepak Rauniyar (White sun, four nights, Pooja, sir A woman who investigated the disappearance of two boys in a Nepali border city is a taut police procedural after a spy. Meanwhile, Reema Das’ (Bulbul can sing, Tora’s husband, Village Rockstar 2 A teenage girl continues to be a saga of the upcoming age, chronicing the discovery of the music of a teenage girl amidst the harsh realities of life.
Aranya Sahe (Shadow, Man in loop One of the invisible workers behind India’s growing AI industry presents a tender, layered image of a single mother, navigating her relationship with her teenage daughter while acting as a data anotator. Screening will include a special panel on technology and AI morality, which will feature filmmakers and industry experts.

IFFLA 2025 will also perform Los Angeles Premier of Television Series Dui shawA psychological drama by Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun, a combination of supernatural horror with Stark realities of South Asia. After the screening, the filmmaker will be a masterclass with an iffla shorts alum.
