Model-turned-actress Richa Sinha, who hails from Lucknow, is making her feature film debut with a British psychological thriller opposite UK actor David Tucci. The film was shot at Pinewood Studios in London, where she plays the lead role.
Richa says, “We shot for three months from September last year. I had done my acting course in the UK and then started looking for work through agents. I auditioned for three projects and managed to get through them.”
She calls it a blessing to make her debut with a British film, which she hopes will help her achieve her Bollywood dreams.
She says, “I never thought that my career would start with an international film. My focus was always on Bollywood and still is. It came out of nowhere; it was just a stroke of luck. I feel completely blessed to have started with the professionals. I am more prepared now.”
The actor revealed that the film will be touring major festivals around the world this year ahead of its global release.
“It’s a psychological thriller about a girl (Anya) who moves to another country and moves on with her life. The story revolves around emotions; she faces challenges, gets into trouble and finds her way out. It’s a love story but very intriguing!”
London-based director Abbey Lucas helms the project. “We shot it at Pinewood Studios, and interestingly, (actor) Tom Holland was shooting the Spiderman movie at the same time. So that was fun! Some of the outdoor shoots were done in Slough (outside London).”
The male lead, David Tucci, has starred in projects such as 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016). minore (2023), and They’re About to Die (2024).
“My last project was a Malayalam film Ramchandra Boss & Company (2025) With Nivin Pauly for item song Habibi DripWe shot it in Dubai and the song has already crossed 50 million views, After the release, I received some South Indian item song offers, which I did not accept, But I have been narrating regional films and also learning Tamil for the last few months,
His ultimate goal is Bollywood only. “Something is happening in Hindi too, but I am very cautious about talking about it now until everything is in place. I had shot for a film which never released, so I am cautious now.”
An alumnus of La Martiniere Girls’ College, she concluded, “I started with beauty pageants, modeling and commercials. After the pandemic, I started focusing on acting. The journey has begun!”
