History
Born to Maharana Udai Singh II, the current king of Mewar, Maharana Pratap became the heir to the kingdom after the death of his father. Maharana Pratap participated in many battles in his early years and led the country’s first war of independence. He is best known for his battle with Mughal emperor Akbar in the Battle of Haldighati. Maharana Pratap was seriously injured in January 1597 and died on January 29, 1957.
