Telugu star Mahesh Babu on Tuesday congratulated Tamil star Dhanush for his “brilliant” acting and direction in his latest release “Raayan”. The crime thriller, written by Dhanush, received a positive response upon its release on Friday and is inching closer to the Rs 50 crore mark, according to estimates by box office tracking website Sacnilk.
Mahesh Babu shared a brief note on microblogging site X, praising the cast and crew of ‘Ryan’, including composer AR Rahman.
“#Raayan… Superb acting by DhanushKraja… Superb direction and performance. @iam_SJSuryah, @prakashraaj, @sundeepkishan and the entire cast have given brilliant performances.
He wrote, “Brilliant music by the maestro @arrahman. A must watch. Congratulations to the entire team! @sunpictures @officialdushara @varusarath5 @kalidas700 @Aparnabala2 @selvaraghavan.”
Dhanush expressed his gratitude to the Telugu actor for his kind words.

On Monday, Dhanush thanked fans for the response to ‘Raayan’ and said it was the best birthday gift ever.
The film also stars SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali. The film was released on June 26, two days before the National Award-winning actor’s 41st birthday.
Dhanush had written in the post, “My heartfelt thanks to the audience, film fraternity, friends, press and media and my pillars of support – my fans for giving me their blessings. This is the best blockbuster birthday gift ever. Om Namah Shivaya!”

Raayan also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles.
Dhanush will next be seen in Arun Matheswaran’s film Ilaiyaraaja, which is based on the life of the legendary musician.
