There is hardly anyone who is not excited for its release Mufasa: The Lion KingDisney’s upcoming film, releasing in theaters on December 20, has already created a lot of buzz. Mahesh Babu has lent his voice for the role of Mufasa in the Telugu version of the film. The superstar’s daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni has expressed her happiness and pride over her father’s participation in the project. In a video posted by the producers on Instagram, Sitara explained how she sees parallels between her father’s personality and Mufasa’s personality.
Sitara Ghattamaneni said, “I’m proud that my father made this film because Mufasa is such an iconic character.” The lion king. He (Mahesh Babu) is very much like Mufasa in real life also. He is loving and protective. When I heard the news, I was really proud and excited that he was playing the role of Mufasa. Sitara Ghattamaneni also shared an anecdote about how Mahesh Babu prepared for Mufasa: The Lion King. He revealed that during preparation, his father would often practice lines while interacting with his pet dog, Snoopy. He shared, “He practiced a lot. He is a perfect fit for this character and this is his first time too. Whenever I watch the trailer, I feel happy when it comes on the screen. I can’t wait to see the full movie. He is going to be great. In the first part, I really liked the one where Rafiki is holding Simba. That’s how my dad used to hold Snoopy when he was a kid… It’s so funny that now he’s actually playing Mufasa.”
Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King is a prequel to lion kingThe upcoming project follows Mufasa’s journey – from a lost, orphaned cub to the legendary Lion King we all know and love. While it takes inspiration from the 1994 classic film (which was remade in 2019 by Jon Favreau), it adds a whole new layer to Mufasa’s backstory.
In the Telugu version, Mahesh Babu plays Mufasa, Brahmanandam plays Pumbaa, Ali plays Timon, Satyadev plays Taka and Ayyappa P Sharma plays Kiros.
For the Hindi version, the iconic Shah Rukh Khan is bringing Mufasa to life, with his son Aryan Khan voicing Simba. And don’t forget little Abram Khan, who is voicing Mufasa as a cub. Sanjay Mishra is on Pumbaa duty, Shreyas Talpade is Timon, Makarand Deshpande is Rafiki and Meiyang Chang is playing Taka.
