Arun Chandu was shocked when a radio jockey from an FM radio station called him to ask how he was feeling. “I had no idea what the question was about. When I was being recorded, I asked what the question was about. I had no idea about it. skywalker “The film has won a special award for outstanding talent in any aspect of cinematic art; he is the co-writer-director of the film,” an excited Arun said over the phone. The 54th Kerala State Film Awards were announced on August 16.
To say that the award was a surprise for the writer-director of the film is an understatement. He admitted that he did not expect the film to appeal to the ‘old school’ jury. “It was bias on my part to assume that a film with a different kind of sensibility would not stand a chance at the State Awards. The award was never on my radar, I did not expect it to even be on the spectrum [for an award], skywalkerA sci-fi mockumentary set in a post-apocalyptic future set in the year 2040, the film tells the story of a world besieged by aliens, climate change and extreme political ideologies. The film stars Ganesh Kumar, Aju Varghese, Anarkali Marikar and Gokul Suresh in the lead roles.
The film’s success was surprising and unexpected, even for the producers. [the success] “A ray of hope”. “This acceptance has opened the doors of opportunity for many youngsters who want to make films on offbeat subjects and hope for commercial success too.” Referring to the difficulties and scepticism he faced during the release, he says, “This is the culmination [to the struggle] In a very beautiful way! And this once again proves the filmmaker’s oft-repeated cliché dialogue – the audience is the hero.”
