Singer Mame Khan added a flavour of folk songs to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s lavish wedding in Mumbai on Friday and said he was delighted to see the Ambani family enjoying the wedding with full enthusiasm despite the three-month-long wedding celebrations. He also praised Nita Ambani for the attention to detail in the ceremony. The singer performed his popular songs like Kesariya Balam, Laal Peeli Akhiyan and Chaudhry. In several videos, Anant is seen tying his turban to the tune of Mame’s Kesariya Balam.

Maam, who is in Delhi for another performance on Saturday, says, “Performing at the wedding was a truly wonderful experience. I felt proud to be a part of the celebrations, which felt like a festival. I still can’t get over the excitement.”
He further added, “Seeing Anant getting ready to become a groom with a safa on his head was an emotional moment as I have seen him grow up. The wedding celebrations had been going on for the last two-three months and the entire Ambani family was immersed in the celebrations with full force and was happy about it. Sometimes it happens that one gets tired after all the parties, but it was not so for the family. It was a surreal feeling.”
Mame feels only the Ambani family could have organised such a grand event, with all the big names from Hollywood, Bollywood and sports gathering under one roof. “Everyone was enjoying it and having a great time,” he says.

The singer has no words to describe the wedding atmosphere, and he said that this atmosphere will stay with him forever.
“Anant was dancing with all his might and was extremely happy. He was the happiest and loveliest groom. I met him and his emotions were evident in his smile. The Ambani family has always been kind and jovial. I have been performing for them for the past 10 years,” he says.
Talking about Nita Ambani, he said, “I have to salute Nita ma’am. She was a wonderful host. Despite being busy with so many things, she was taking care of every small detail from decorations, clothes, flowers, food to the performance. This is commendable. After my performance, she came to meet me with great joy.
Here, Mamé admitted that she was happy to represent folk music at the event. She said, “It was amazing to bring and represent my folk music in front of the family. That was the biggest achievement for me.”

“Everyone was having a lot of fun. I saw Ranveer become the life of the party. I even opened up to John Cena, who was very happy to be a part of the wedding. I told him about the Indian music and he was very happy about it. Being a part of this celebration was a once in a lifetime moment for me, which I will cherish for a lifetime,” he said.
