Mumbai: 90s Bollywood star Mamta Kulkarni, known for her roles in hit films like Karan Arjun and Baaghi, has returned to Mumbai after 25 years. In a candid conversation with ANI, the actress talked about her life journey, her spiritual activities and her past relationship with Vicky Goswami, who has been linked to drug-related controversies.
On returning to India. Mamta revealed that her return has nothing to do with Bollywood. She clarified, “I have not come back to Bollywood and I am not planning to come back as an actress.”
He expressed deep feelings about being back in his homeland, sharing a video on Instagram, where he described feeling nostalgic and overwhelmed when he landed in Mumbai. He wrote, Back to his motherland after 25 years. Participated in Kumbh Mela 2012 after 12 years of penance and will return exactly 12 years later for another Mahakumbh 2025.
Mamata talked about her past relationship with Vicky Goswami, who was involved in drug-related cases. She said, “I have no connection with the D (drug) world because I have never met these people. Yes, I joined Vicky Goswami… but my spiritual journey started in 1996 and I focused on meditation, tapasya and puja.
Mamata revealed that her relationship with Goswami faded with time, and she has not been in touch with him since 2016. He focused on spirituality during his years away from the public eye.
In 2017, Mamata was issued a non-bailable warrant by the Thane Police in a drug case. This controversy stemmed from his relationship with Vicky Goswami. However, she clarified that she was not involved in his alleged activities.
Mamta Kulkarni was a prominent face in Bollywood during the 1990s, starring alongside superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. However, she stepped away from the industry in the early 2000s and moved abroad, choosing a life of asceticism and spiritual exploration.
Her return to Mumbai marks a new chapter in her life, as she reconnects with her roots and prepares for the Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025. Fans remain curious to know what’s next for the former actress at this stage of her journey.
