Actress Mamta Kulkarni talks about coming back to Mumbai after 25 years and her relationship with Vicky Goswami.
Speaking to ANI, she said, “I have not come back to Bollywood and I am not planning to come back as an actress either…”
Talking about her relationship with Vicky Goswami, she said, “I have no connection with the D (drug) world because I never met these people. Yes, I got involved with Vicky Goswami… in 1996, My spiritual journey began and during that time a Guru came into my life…”
‘When Vicky was in Dubai jail, he called me asking me to come and meet him… I spent 12 years…’My mother has progressed in the path of meditation, penance and worship.‘And when he came out of jail in 2012, by that time all my desires were gone… either falling in love or getting married… there was nothing left, and he came out of jail and I Had decided that until he comes out, I will not go back to India… Then he went to Kenya and I came to India for the Kumbh Mela around 2012-2013… I came straight from Dubai for ten days Allahabad (now Prayagraj) and then went back to Dubai.”
In 2017, Thane Police had issued non-bailable warrant against actress Mamta Kulkarni and drug lord Vicky Goswami in a drug bust case. In this regard, the names of both came up, on the basis of which the charge sheet was filed.
In January, Goswami, Ibrahim and Baktash Akasha, as well as Ghulam Hussain, were extradited from Kenya to the US. All of them were arrested in November 2014 in a sting operation by the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), posing as Colombian drug dealers.

The actress shared that her journey out of India started in 2000 and now in 2024, she is finally back. Mamta also said that when the plane was about to land, she became emotional after seeing her country from above for the first time in two decades. Overwhelmed by the significance of her return, she also cried as she exited Mumbai’s international airport.
In the caption of the video, Mamata wrote, “After 25 years, I have returned to my motherland and after 12 years of penance, I have participated in the Kumbh Mela 2012 and exactly 12 years later, I will be back for another Mahakumbh 2025.”
