‘Manjummel Boys’ director Chidambaram steps into Hindi cinema

Acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys And John E. MannShe is going to enter Hindi cinema with a new project in collaboration with Phantom Studio. Phantom Studio CEO Srishti Bahl made this announcement on Wednesday.

Further details are awaited about the project, which will be Chidambaram’s first Hindi feature film.

Talking about the collaboration, Bahl said in a statement, “We are very happy to welcome Chidambaram to the Phantom family. We have always been a creatively oriented company that offers directors the opportunity to create their best work with Phantom. In this new world where language no longer restricts filmmakers, we intend to bring unique voices from different regions to Hindi cinema to create stories that transcend linguistic boundaries. Chidambaram is the ideal person to collaborate with us. His unique vision and storytelling abilities align perfectly with our creative ethos at Phantom Studios. We are excited to bring his vision to the Hindi film audience.”

Announcing the same on their Instagram handle, Phantom Studios wrote, “We are thrilled to begin a new collaborative journey with the immensely talented @_chidambaram_! He has made his mark in the South with his unique vision and storytelling and we are excited to work on his debut in Hindi cinema!

Survival thriller Manjummel BoysMade on a budget of Rs 20 crore, the film became the first Malayalam film to gross over Rs 200 crore at the box office. It became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024.

Talking about his debut in Hindi cinema, Chidambaram said, “I am excited to take this step towards Hindi mainstream cinema. However, I am happy that I will be making my debut in Hindi cinema. Manjummel Boys Always special, I am honoured and excited to collaborate with Phantom Studios for my first Hindi feature film.
