Haridwar: The Legendary Indian film actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar’s ashes were immersed in a close ceremony at a ceremony in Haridwar in Haridwar, Haridwar in Sacred Ganga river on Saturday morning.
The immersion held in Brahma Kund was performed with full Vedic rites, which had mantras echoing with Riverbank.
Kumar’s sons, Kunal and Vishal Goswami, along with other relatives, participated in the ritual led by a family priest.

Speaking after the ceremony, Kunal Goswami said, “The ashes are drowned in the Ganges, and we pray for the peace of his soul through the blessings of Maa Ganga.”
Harikrishna Goswami was born on July 24, 1937 in Abbottabad (now in Pakistan), the birth of Harikrishna Goswami, died on April 4 after a long illness at the age of 87.
He breathed his last at 4:03 am at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
Films like ‘Ukar’, ‘Purba and Paschim’, and ‘Shaheed’ are known as “Bharat Kumar” for their prestigious portrayal of patriotism, Kumar was a prominent person in Indian cinema in the 1960s and 70s.
He was also a skilled director and producer, in which his debut directorial ‘Cess’ won the National Film Award for the second Best Feature Film in 1967.
The other directors included both ‘Purba and Paschim’ (1970) and ‘Roti Capada Aur House’ (1974), both serious and commercially successful.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the death of an experienced actor in a letter addressed to Kumar’s wife Shashi Goswami.
The PM wrote, “Veteran actor and filmmaker through their films showed India’s pride in a powerful way,” PM wrote, “His work will continue to inspire generations to work for the country and society.”
On 5 April, Manoj Kumar’s last honor was cremated at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai.
The funeral saw the presence of many Bollywood dignitaries, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Salim Khan and Arbaaz Khan.
