Marathi play ‘Murderwale Kulkarni’ to be staged in Hyderabad

Drama Murderer Kulkarni It is a typical farce with characters caught in complicated, funny situations. Written by Jayant Upadhyay and directed by Santosh Pawar, this Marathi play will be staged in Hyderabad, with Vaibhav Mangle in the lead role of Kulkarni and Bhargavi Chirmule in the role of his wife, Mrs. Kulkarni.

The drama depicts a day in the life of Madhav Kulkarni (Vaibhav), who is the only witness to a murder. He hopes to hide and escape problems, but the killer arrives and threatens Madhav and his wife. So when the police arrive, the couple is too scared to talk, leading to funny twists in the story.

The audience will be thoroughly entertained in this play of two and a half hours (with one break). Using comedy, the importance of values ​​in life has also been subtly depicted in the play.

Having straddled the worlds of films and theatre, Vaibhav is a versatile actor who does both comedy and serious roles. Unlike stand-up which relies mostly on punchlines, situational comedy also requires the actors to play the character with ease so that the story feels light-hearted and humorous and not forced.”

Vaibhav is excited to see the Marathi theatre community in Hyderabad actively organising plays, but he is not surprised. “Maharashtrians will never forget to do two things: Ganpati Celebration And watching plays. Theatre is a part of Marathi culture, a treasure and heritage that has been passed down through generations. Marathi plays have a bigger audience than films.
