Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese is showing off his funny side on social media by appearing in a touching TikTok with his filmmaker daughter Francesca, in which he also gives an exclusive tour of his home in New York, showing This is so filmy. In the video, the duo takes viewers on a tour of their home in New York. They’re introducing a version of TikTok’s popular ‘I’m a… of course…’ trend.
In the hilarious video, Francesca is seen kicking off the tour in a hallway filled with movie posters.
“We’re movie lovers – of course we have movie posters all over the house,” she says with a big smile, after which she’s interrupted by her father, who doesn’t look at the camera.
“Now do the same again. There has to be more to it…” jokes the 81-year-old, directing his daughter.
He instructs her, saying: “You are proud of these posters. You are happy to receive this poster.” He mentioned this with the hope that Francesca would reflect this enthusiasm in the video.
“Of course we have movie posters all over our house,” she says more enthusiastically as she walks across the black-and-white marble-tiled floor.
“It’s too big! Take it down,” Martin is seen telling her daughter in between.
Francesca responded to him, saying, “Dad…it’s a TikTok!”
Social media users liked this funny banter between father and daughter. One user commented, “Never thought TikTok directed by Martin Scorsese would be on our 2024 bingo card, but I’m here for it.”
“He’s Martin Scorsese, of course he’s going to direct a TikTok to perfection!” Said another.

TikTok takes fans into the director’s home, showing off his unique decor that reflects his personality.
“We’re film buffs – so of course we have a few cameras,” says Martin, showing off an old-fashioned movie camera.
This camera was an early 20th century movie camera with four lenses, and was set on a sturdy wooden tripod.
“We’re film lovers – of course we have a director’s chair,” says Francesca as she shows off a director’s chair with Scorsese’s name emblazoned on the back. You can also see a baseball cap with the family name embroidered on the back.
TikTok viewers also got a glimpse of some of Martin’s artwork, including a framed Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote cartoon sketch that can be seen hanging on the wall.
“We’re movie buffs — so of course we have TCM on all the time,” Martin says in his home movie theater, where a classic black-and-white film is playing.
“We are movie lovers – of course we have a DVD player,” says Francesca. She shows DVD copies of the 1962 film Il Sorpaso (titled The Easy Life in English), the 1956 American drama Larger Than Life, and the 1964 Bernardo Bertolucci film Before the Revolution.
“We’re movie lovers – so of course we have some movie memorabilia,” says Martin, leading the audience into a special area.
The clip then shows a room filled with bookshelves.
“Like these… the original red shoes from the movie The Red Shoes from 1949 – but they are now on loan somewhere for exhibition. Apologize!” says Martin, pointing to the empty display case.
“We are film lovers – so of course we will tell you what cinema is really about,” says Francesca.
After which, Martin says, “We’re film lovers – so of course we have things from films like Hugo’s Automaton”. He proceeds to show off the famous model from the 2011 film he directed.
The film received 11 Oscar nominations that year, including Best Picture. Martin won the Golden Globe for Best Director for the film.
“We’re film lovers – of course it’s impossible to choose a favorite filmmaker”, Francesca says, ending the clip with a friend, who can be seen wearing a T-shirt with Martin’s face on it.

The TikTok clip has already been viewed more than 1.8 million times. It’s one of several videos in which father and daughter have appeared together in recent months.
Recently, Martin, who directed his first feature film in 1967, has become an avid user of social media, where audiences get to see a different side of him. Martin also has his own Instagram account which has almost 2 million followers.
