Los Angeles: Disney has delayed the release of the upcoming team-up features of Marvel Studio “Avengers: Doomsde” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. It will now be released in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
“Doomsde” is now ready to debut on December 18, 2026. It was earlier scheduled to hit the screen on 1 May, 2026. To match, follow-up “Avengers: Secret Wars” is taking its release to December 17, 2027, first after setting up for 7 May, 2027, Variety.
Disney announced the delay on both “Avengers” on Thursday afternoon, as well as with the widespread reorganization of its upcoming dramatic slate.
In particular, the new calendar noticed that the studio removed several undeclared marble titles from its calendar. The date of February 13, 2026, which was first slot for the “Untitled Marvel” project, has been removed from the schedule.
Meanwhile, the dates of November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2027 are also prescribed for the first “Untitled Marvel” features, only “Untitled Disney” films have been amended.
With those changes, “Avengers: Doomsde” and Sony’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” are now the only Marvel cinematic universe entries that are slapped to hit theaters in 2026.
Additionally, now on 25 July, “The Fantastic 4: First Steps” and on 31 July 2026, there is no dramatic Marvel feature for release between the fourth Tom Holland “Spider-Man” installment on 31 July, 2026-after more than a year.
This will be the biggest difference of MCU between the feature films since the Kovid era gap between the 2019 “Spider-Man: for from Home” and the “Black Widow” of 2021.
Disney has placed some flags for “Untitled Marvel” features on the dates of 2028: February 18, May 5 and 10 November. Marvel Studio has also announced titles like “Armer Wars” and “Blade” earlier, although neither the film project currently has an official release date.
A significant reduction in dramatic Marvel features on the immediate horizon align with a recently expressed strategy for Disney CEO Bob Igar’s superhero facilities.
During an investor call, Igar shared that Marvel Studios had focused a bit by “focusing too much” between its tent pole and various Disney+ series “. He said, “By consolidating a little and focusing Marvel more on his films, we believe that better quality will result in better quality.”
