New Delhi: In a unique crossover, Marvel’s ‘What If…?’ ‘Season 3’ recreates the iconic Bollywood song Malhari from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The powerful score, which featured Ranveer Singh in the role of Peshwa Bajirao, has been recreated for a scene in the second episode of the animated series.
Kingo, played by Kumail Nanjiani, is the star of an entertaining sequence in which he dances to a version of the famous Bollywood song Malhari from Bajirao Mastani. The exciting and stunning visuals bring together two worlds, the vibrant and colorful Bollywood music and the exciting Marvel universe.
While this is not the first time that Marvel has used cultural references in its stories, the addition of ‘Malhari’ increases the representation by recreating a famous Bollywood scene. The scene was praised by fans for its authenticity and the respect it showed towards Indian cinema.
