Friends star Matthew Perry died in October last year at the age of 54 due to a ketamine overdose, according to a report provided by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. The coroner completed his investigation in December after which the LAPD further investigated Perry’s death in the bathtub and the cause of the ketamine overdose. Perry, 54, was found dead and drowned in his hot tub at his mansion located in the Pacific Palisades area of ​​Los Angeles.

Police officials suggest multiple people should be charged for Perry’s death
According to PEOPLE, police officials are under investigation in the actor’s ketamine death and have suggested that multiple people are connected to his death. The US Attorney’s office will make the final decision on whether charges will be issued against multiple suspects. The manner of his death was initially reported as accidental.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DAE) and US Postal Inspectors, investigated the source of the ketamine that was found in his home. The investigation was reported by People magazine in May.

Perry was under ketamine infusion therapy
As People reported, the post-mortem report found that Perry was under ketamine infusion therapy. The drug was prescribed to Perry as part of her depression treatment. During the therapy, the patient is given small amounts of ketamine as a dissociative anesthetic.
The actor, best known for his character Chandler, opened up about his struggle with addiction in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. He spoke to People about his challenges in a 2022 interview, in which he said, “I had to wait until I was completely sober — and away from the active disease of alcoholism and addiction — to write it all down. I was absolutely convinced that if I did it would help people.”
