‘Ketamine Queen’ charged in Matthew Perry case

On August 15, major revelations emerged in the case of the Hollywood star, who was found dead in his rental home last October. According to the Justice Department, out of the five people charged – two licensed doctors and Perry’s longtime assistant – a suspect named Jasveen Sangha has come to light. As reported, prosecutors have described the case as connected to an “extensive underground criminal network” that exploited the actor’s substance abuse struggles for financial gain.

During the press conference held on Thursday, the department alleged that Sangha exploited Mr. Perry by selling him large quantities of ketamine over a two-week period in October 2023. He also “sold approximately 50 vials of ketamine for approximately $11,000.”

Who is Jasveen Sangha?

Jasveen Sangha, a 41-year-old dual citizen accused of being the “Ketamine Queen,” is a central figure in the tragic death of Matthew Perry. Described as one of two primary suspects in the case, Sangha stunned people for her alleged relentless pursuit of drug dealing, even though she was implicated in two fatal overdoses in 2019, including Perry and another man.

Following Perry’s demise, a staggering amount of drugs was discovered in his lavish emporium, including “80 vials of ketamine, thousands of pills containing methamphetamine, cocaine, bottles of Xanax and other illicitly obtained drugs”, revealing that he was deeply involved in high-level drug dealing.

Records show that before Perry, he allegedly sold ketamine to Cody McLaury in 2019, hours before his death from what was believed to be an overdose. Prosecutors said Sangha could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Jasveen Sangha’s connection with Matthew Perry’s death

Sangha, who has a criminal history, has pleaded not guilty and is due to appear in court soon, along with Dr. Salvador Plascencia, 42. They were previously arrested in March for possession of ketamine and possession with intent to distribute. Authorities indicated Thursday that Sangha knew her actions contributed to Perry’s death, as evidenced by a message she sent to drug dealer Fleming, in which she instructed him to “delete all our messages” after learning of the actor’s death.

The alleged scheme to cause Perry’s death was allegedly hatched by the “Ketamine Queen” and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42. He was joined by three other men: Dr. Mark Chavez, who claimed to have sold the drug to Plasencia; Eric Fleming, 54, who confessed to distributing the drug that caused Perry’s death; and Perry’s longtime assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who injected the lethal doses into his body. According to authorities, Sangha, a known drug dealer, used his North Hollywood residence as a distribution center for ketamine.
