According to federal authorities, Matthew Perry’s assistant allegedly played a key role in the actor’s fatal overdose. Kenneth Iwamasa is accused of purchasing illegal drugs, including buying drugs from a man known as “Master Chef,” before he injected the lethal dose into the “Friends” star, which ultimately led to his shocking death.
Perry’s longtime assistant administered a lethal dose of ketamine
The Hollywood star was found unconscious in the hot tub of her rented home in October last year. It was initially believed to be an accidental drowning, but authorities later found that Perry had been given a lethal injection of ketamine.
Now, Perry’s longtime assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiring to distribute ketamine that led to the actor’s death. The assistant, who was with Matthew Perry for nearly three decades, allegedly injected the lethal dose that killed Perry. According to Page Six, US Attorney Martin Estrada revealed that Perry had struggled with substance abuse addiction and a group of five individuals, including Iwamasa, took advantage of the situation for their own benefit.

The Justice Department said Thursday that Iwamasa could face up to 15 years in prison. The claims also revealed the ill intentions of Dr. Salvador Plascencia, who worked closely with Iwamasa, who has lived with Perry in his L.A. home since 1994, to administer nearly 20 vials of ketamine to the actor over a two-month period.
Several people arrested in conspiracy to kill Matthew Perry
Five people have been charged so far in connection with the actor’s fatal overdose. The group, reportedly led by a woman called the “Ketamine Queen” (Jasveen Sangha, 41) and a doctor (Dr. Salvador Plascencia, 42), are accused of exploiting Perry’s addiction. The assistant has admitted to administering the fatal dose.

Meanwhile, another licensed doctor (Dr. Mark Chavez), who admitted to selling the drug to Plasencia, and Eric Fleming (54), who admitted to distributing the drug that killed Perry, have also been taken into custody. All five face charges related to drug distribution and conspiracy. Prosecutors allege they profited from Perry’s struggle with substance abuse.
Matthew Perry took 27 shots of ketamine before he died
In a press release Thursday, the Justice Department said Iwamasa “admitted to repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without medical training,” including “multiple injections” on the day of her death, according to POST. According to the updated criminal complaint filed today, Iwamasa, 59, acted in concert with Sangha, Fleming, and Plasencia to break the law by obtaining ketamine and then sharing it with Perry.
His assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, allegedly administered 27 ketamine injections over the last five days of the actor’s life. The lethal dose came from a mysterious supplier called the “Master Chef” by those involved. Iwamasa found Perry in a hot tub, where he was barely able to open his eyes, with a dangerous amount of ketamine in his system. The assistant opened up about giving him the drug, and a few other people, including the so-called “Ketamine Queen,” are being charged in the case.
