New Delhi: Aanand L Rai’s latest directorial film ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ is currently making huge profits in theatres. Starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, the film tells the intense love story of Shankar and Mukti, who reunite after a painful separation.
In the film, Dhanush plays the role of an Air Force officer who meets Mukti after many years of separation.
However, Kriti’s character is married to Jasjeet and is expecting her first child with him. This revelation triggers the dramatic climax of the film. Mukti’s husband Jasjeet is played by Paramveer Singh Cheema.

Who is Paramveer Singh Cheema?
Paramveer Singh Cheema, who plays Jasjeet in the film, is best known for his critically acclaimed performance as Shivraj Singh Mangat in Netflix’s successful 2025 series Black Warrant.
In the show, he played the role of a police officer posted inside Tihar Jail. Apart from Black Warrant, Paramvir has appeared in SonyLIV’s Chamak, where he played the role of Kaala – a rapper who returns to Punjab to uncover the truth behind the death of his father Tara Singh.
Tere Ishq Mein is Paramveer’s first film on the big screen. He will next be seen in Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The war drama is set to release on Republic Day 2026 weekend.

Tere Ishq Mein sold 2.63 lakh tickets on the first day
According to BookMyShow, directed by Aanand L Rai, Tere Ishq Mein has performed exceptionally well on the ticketing platform and has sold 263,000 tickets on the first day. As per SACNILC report, it is ranked 8th among all 2025 Bollywood releases in terms of first day sales, ahead of Jolly LLB 3 (235K tickets) and Sitare Zameen Par (225K tickets).
War 2 leads the charts with sales of 676,000 tickets, followed by Chhaabha with sales of 669,000 tickets. Among romantic dramas, Syara remains the biggest opener with 419,000 tickets sold.
Tere Ishq Mein’s strong opening has surprised industry insiders, opening at eighth position overall and second among romantic films, indicating strong audience interest ahead of its first weekend. Early estimates suggest that the film collected around Rs 19-20 crore on the first day.

In the film, Kriti Sanon plays the character of a spirited and independent woman named Mukti, while Dhanush plays the role of a fiery and unpredictable man named Shankar. Their romance takes a tragic turn when circumstances force them to separate, leaving Shankar heartbroken and seeking vengeance, culminating in a dramatic vow to burn down Delhi.
