‘Metro … in dino’ gets midweck boost, Anurag Basu’s film runs for ₹ 25 crore

Anurag Basu’s latest film ‘Metro … In Dino’ is managing to stay at the box office, thank you for the middle week Surge brought by ‘Discount Tuesday’. The romantic drama, including Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher, recorded 10% of the bumps a day on their fifth day.

According to Sacnilk’s initial estimates, the film earned ₹ 2.9 crore on Tuesday, from Monday’s race of ₹ 2.5 crore. The jump of this minor mid-week is attributed to the ‘Discount Tuesday’ initiative, where standard cinema tickets are sold at low rates between ₹ 99 and ₹ 149. However, it is still behind its peak single-day collection of ₹ 7.25 crore on Sunday. The film opened at ₹ 3.5 crore on Friday, followed by ₹ 6 crore on Saturday.

So far, ‘Metro … In Dino’ has raked the Indian box office for ₹ 22.15 crore. Directed by Sonu Sood, and Kangana Ranaut’s political term is sufficient to cross the lifetime collection of ‘Fateh’ (₹ 18 crore) directed by the play ‘Emergency’ (₹ 20 crore).

The film is now moving towards a stone of ₹ 25 million miles continuously, which marks a positive turn in its dramatic run.

Among the Hindi -spectators, Basu’s film has topped the other domestic release and topped the top position. Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ managed the of 1.85 crores on Tuesday, while Kajol-starrer ‘Maa’, a horror-drama, earned just ₹ 85 lakh.

Upcoming release

The actual test for ‘Metro … In Dino’ begins on this Friday as it enters its second weekend, which leads to strict competition from high-profile new release such as ‘Superman’, ‘Malik’, and Vikrant Masi’s much awaited ‘Gastakhyan of Enchon’. Business experts say that if the film matches the number of Thursday coming this Friday, it can comfortably reach ₹ 45 crore in India. However, if the second Friday sees a sharp dip, the film may fall less and, similar to ‘Maya’, can finish its run in the 40 crore range.

Directed and written by Anurag Basu, the film is produced by T-Series films and Anurag Basu Productions. It is a spiritual successor of the 2007 creed hit ‘Life in a metro’.
