A modern remake of the 1982 romantic film ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ starring Richard Gere and Debra Winger is being made, with Miles Tiller in the lead role.
According to a report deadlineParamount is developing the remake from a screenplay by Dana Fox based on Matt Johnson’s original draft.
An Officer and a Gentleman is the story of a young cadet named Jack who joins Aviation Officer Candidate School and romances a local girl, all the while suffering under the brunt of his harsh drill instructor. Louis Gossett Jr. won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley.
Coincidentally, Tiller played a U.S. Navy officer. Top Gun: Maverick (2023).
The actor stars in the upcoming romantic action drama The Gorge. He also plays Michael Jackson’s lawyer John Branca in the upcoming biopic Michael.
